I grew up in the south: Texas, flavored by Louisiana, with parents from Baton Rouge.

So, Elvis was big…and the album I remember spinning the most on this day was the Elvis Christmas Album.

Recently a friend emailed me saying “Love you and your newsletter, but I don’t like the name!” Inquiring into her concern, she explained to me “It’s good that Wednesday is hump day, because the end of the work week is coming.”

I shared with her my vision of every day having the same fun, fulfilled and joyous feeling that most folks only experience on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

What if Wednesday felt no different, and we were so tickled in what we were doing that we no longer had to imagine ourselves overcoming the stuff we don’t like so that we could downslope into the stuff we do like?

So today which, this year particularly, requires the least unhumping of any Wednesday, I wish for you that this feeling of joy be carried forward endlessly throughout your weeks in the coming year.
